Metalville PR‘s press release indicates in part: “Formosa stand for flawless Hard’n’Heavy in the best NWOBHM tradition ala Saxon or Judas Priest. Classic sounds, reduced to the bare essentials – guitar, bass, drums, and pithy hooks – with the mission to revive the feeling of the ’80s, which the guys only know from legends and stories, without clichés and to transport it into the here and now.”

Tuesday March 2nd
Hair Metal mixtape #345 – Double Dippin’ – Tue Mar 2

Today it’s Tuesday and in the radio traditions of Two For Tuesday’s, we are Double Dippin’, so stick around for Crazy Lixx, Twisted Sister and Aerosmith just to name a few.

But first… Hear N’ Tell!

The End Machine featuring Robert Mason, George Lynch and Jeff Pilson unveil new track “Blood And Money”

The End Machine consisting of guitarist George Lynch (DokkenLynch MobSweet & LynchKXM), bassist Jeff Pilson (DokkenForeigner), lead vocalist Robert Mason (WarrantBig CockLynch Mob) and drummer Steve Brown have unveiled a video for their new single “Blood And Money” from their upcoming sophomore album Phase2, which will be released via Frontiers Music Srl on April 9, 2021.

Let’s hear it and I’ll tell you some more after…

That was End Machine featuring Robert Mason, George Lynch and Jeff Pilson and the track “Blood And Money” from their upcoming sophomore album Phase2, which will be released via Frontiers Music Srl on April 9, 2021.

The following message was posted on Frontiers Music Srl‘s Facebook page earlier today (with slight edits): “The End Machine are back with their sophomore album, “Phase2,” which follows on the heels of their well-received and successful self-titled debut album released in 2018. The End Machine features former classic lineup Dokken members George Lynch and Jeff Pilson with the awesome singer Robert Mason (WarrantLynch Mob) on lead vocals. Classic Dokken drummer Mick Brown handled drums on the first album, but is now retired, so in his place behind the drum kit is none other than his brother Steve Brown. “Phase2” will be released on April 9, 2021, but fans can get their first taste of the album today with the release of the new single and video, ‘Blood And Money’.

Available on CD/Ltd. Ed. Color LP/Digital. Limited Edition Crystal vinyl is available exclusively from the Frontiers‘ U.S. (launching next week!) and EU webstores. Limited Edition White vinyl is available exclusively for the EU market and will be available through all physical retailers there.

The new The End Machine record “Phase2” builds on the great bluesy hard rock music of the debut, but sees the band move more towards more towards a classic ’80s hard rock sound and the result is a 2.0 reboot of a killer music machine.

Originally born from an idea of Frontiers Music Srl President and A&R Director Serafino Perugino, who wanted to have the classic line-up of Dokken team up with a killer vocalist, The End Machine‘s self-titled debut impressed mightily upon release. Far from being a simple rehash of the members resumes, The End Machine proved to be a gelled unit who sounded exactly like the seasoned pros they are, while taking their hard rock past and putting a stamp of modern production on things courtesy of Pilson.

For their debut album, The End Machine’s sound developed through several songwriting sessions between Pilson and Lynch, but while the line-up may have had fans making assumptions about the sound of the band, things took a different turn. Said Pilson at the time, “The real truth of it is that George and I have this great songwriting partnership that’s been going on for 35 years, and we love to work together.”

The tradition started on The End Machine‘s debut album expands, develops and further impresses on the new album, “Phase2“.”

The Mixtape!

OK, Mixtapers! Today we is double dippin’ and I like it. I also put a fun little spin or self-challenge for me today on where to look for these double dippin’ tracks for today. I went to the Movies! That’s right, lately my wife and I have been digging’ in to the classic rocker movies that we love like Bill & Ted’s and Wayne’s World and I just couldn’t ignore these soundtracks full of Cinderella and Slaughter. I’ll be honest, some of these tracks and artists I love on these soundtracks, I was not aware of. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking not thinking back then. I know, there was no friggin’ internet to find out about all this cool stuff. To be fair, these soundtracks in the 90’s probably helped keep Hair Metal afloat because of the nature of these movies and Power Ballads! So yeah, Motion Picture Soundtracks are a bigger part of our Hair Metal culture than we thought. The Soundtrack of our lives!

Here’s Cinderella getting “Hot and Bothered” from the Wayne’s World Motion Picture Soundtrack, right here on the Double Dippin’ episode of Hair Metal Mixtape! Party on!

That was Aerosmith with “My Girl” from Pump, which is the tenth studio album by Aerosmith, released in September 1989. The album was remastered and reissued in 2001.

The album has certified sales of seven million copies in the U.S. to date, and is tied with its successor Get a Grip as Aerosmith’s second best-selling studio album in the U.S. (Toys in the Attic leads with eight million).[10] It produced a variety of successes and “firsts” for the band including their first Grammy Award (“Janie’s Got a Gun“).[7] “Love in an Elevator” became the first Aerosmith song to hit #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Additionally, it is the only Aerosmith album to date to have three Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and three number one singles on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The album was the fourth bestselling album of the year 1990.[11]

And that is today’s Hair Metal Mixtape #345 – Double Dippin’

How about them apples!

Movies and Music have got to be top 5 important things in my life. It has to be, there is no other way to explain how much joy I get out of doing this. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for sticking around. I appreciate and respect your time.

That’s it folks! Thanks for listening!

I hope you are maintaining your physical distance from your friends and loved ones for now and yet also engaging in social connectivity.
