Hear N’ Tell!

The Struts have included a cover of Kiss‘ “Do You Love Me?” on their just-released album, Strange Days.

Locked down in Los Angeles this past spring as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the four-piece English band moved into producer Jon Levine’s house after being tested. What was originally planned to be an EP instead became the Struts’ third album, recorded in just 10 days.

Strange Days includes guest appearances from Phil Collen and Joe Elliott of Def Leppard, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Albert Hammond, Jr. of the Strokes and pop star Robbie Williams.

“I think we were trying to get one of the guys from Kiss to play on the song, I can’t remember which one,” guitarist Adam Slack said of the cover in an interview with Sonic Perspectives. “Phil Collen’s first band, Girl, covered that song, and we wanted to get Phil and Joe to play on it, but they wanted to do an original song. We all love the song, and I think it sounds just huge. We didn’t cover a well-known Kiss song because we wanted a song that not everyone knows.”

Nirvana also recorded a version of “Do You Love Me?,” which can be found on the 1990 album Hard to Believe: A Kiss Covers Compilation.

OK, Be sure to go to the show notes on zerodbpodcast.com for the rest of the article and all links and info for the band and beyond.

WHITESNAKE And WINGER Guitarist REB BEACH Releases New Solo Single, ‘Aurora Borealis’

WHITESNAKE and WINGER guitarist Reb Beach will release his long-in-the-works instrumental solo album, “A View From The Inside”, on November 6 via Frontiers Music Srl. The disc’s second single, “Aurora Borealis”, can be heard and told about right now!

The following is from an article in Blabbermouth.net with slight edits…

“A View From The Inside” is described in a press release as “an album that showcases the dynamic talents of the guitar virtuoso, hard rock fans will be transported back to the days when giants like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani dominated the mainstream consciousness (and airwaves), while also simultaneously being shown a guitarist ever pushing himself forward into the future.”

Beach is one of the indisputable guitar giants of the current hard rock scene. His resume with ’80s/’90s mega-stars WINGER alone would earn him this distinction, but his legacy is cemented by his current membership and work with the legendary WHITESNAKE, his past efforts with DOKKEN, and his recent release with supergroup BLACK SWAN, also featuring Jeff PilsonRobin MacAuley and Matt Starr.

Beach‘s first instrumental album is not a mere exercise of self-indulgence. It is the culmination of over 30 years of study and extremely hard work on his craft. Fans of Steve Morse and Joe Satriani will find a lot to love in the 11 songs on offer here, but while there is certainly a lot of ear candy for the musician types, fans of hard rock in general will find a wealth of melodies and transcendent moments where the songs simply make you forget there are no vocals.

Suicide Bombers release video for title track of latest album ‘Murder Couture’

Norwegian sleaze rockers Suicide Bombers consisting of lead vocalist / rhythm guitarist Chris Damien Doll “The Sleaze Fuhrer”, lead guitarist Stevie Teaze “The Sex Toy”, bassist C Slim “The Thunder Mechanic” and drummer Lyle Starr “The Beat Commando” have released a video for the title track of their latest studio album Murder Couture.

“The Suicide Bombers came close to making the Sleaze Roxx’s Top Ten Albums of 2017 with their album Suicide Idols. This year, there is simply no denying them a spot at the “big table.” With every Suicide Bombers album release, it seems that the Norwegian sleaze rockers, led by their frontman Chris Damien Doll, get better and better tweaking little things here and there while maintaining their trademark sleazy delivery.

As you can tell this article is from Sleaze Roxx .com. I don’t know anyone there, I believe it’s a Canadien site but it is definitely my go to for the majority of my Hear N’ Tell.
